The Sarnia Police Service will open its Christina St. headquarters to the public on Sunday, March 22 between 10 am and 2 pm. Escorted tours will be conducted every 20 minutes.

The Police Open House is part of the rollout of a new book celebrating their 160-year history, observed in 2017.  As part of the Open House festivities, free hot dogs will be provided for station tour participants.

The new book, published by the Sarnia Historical Society and written by local author and historian, Phil Egan, is titled, Keeping the Peace: 160 Years of Policing the Imperial City.

Following the station tours, the public will have the opportunity to meet the author and purchase the book (hardcover, $49.85, softcover, $39.95).

Egan spent 26 months researching and writing the book. In the course of his research, Egan interviewed dozens of active and retired police officers and victims of crimes.

The history of the Sarnia Police Service had never before been written.
